Training and Development Policy
The Clay Yard recognises the value in ongoing professional development and fulfilment in continuing to grow and learn. The company aims to recognise the potential in those who engage in and support the delivery of workshops and classes and to provide a platform on which they can flourish and grow.
Professional and personal growth is a key feature of developing the skills and attributes of the Clay Yard team. Participation in training builds and strengthens the quality of provision at the studio and is encouraged and facilitated and features:
Encouragement and support to enable participation in conferences relating to ceramics.
On-the-Job training and skills development
Reflective practice through shadowing and peer observation.
Coaching and mentoring.
Skills workshops led by master potters.
Subscriptions to online and printed learning materials and community resources including the Westcountry Potters Association and The Ceramic Review monthly publication.
